There are generally two types of headaches:
Primary headache: Primary headache is pain around the head and neck. which is caused by inflammation in sensory nerves, muscles or blood vessels.
Secondary headache: This type of headache can be caused by several other problems including ear infection, nasal congestion and dehydration.
Cluster headaches are a type of primary headache. But not every headache is a cluster headache.
Migraines: Migraines cause pain on one side of the head, which worsens with physical activity, light, sound or smell.
Sinus headache: A sinus headache feels like a dull ache behind your eyes, in your cheekbones, forehead, or nose. This is a symptom of a sinus infection (sinusitis).
Tension headaches: Tension headaches cause mild to moderate pain, which feels like a tight band around your head. This type of headache occurs on both sides of the head.
